We hope you find the new website easy to navigate and the most important information just a few clicks away. Almost all of the content from our old site can be found on the new one; however, it may be in a different spot.
We created the main navigation bar with a focus on audiences rather than content in order for people to find items most important to them. It may take a few months to get used to how information is organized but we believe our families will quickly learn to love the new site.
You may be asking yourself, "What was wrong with the old site?" Due to new Federal website accessibility regulations, we had to update the old website. You'll find different features throughout the site that comply with these new regulations such as the new contrast bar at the top. Many changes that were made to comply to the regulations, you won't notice such as making all of our PDFs ADA-compliant, cutting down on the amount of images used, and using simple sentence structures.
One really great feature of the new site is its ability to strink and expand based on the screen size it is being viewed on. With such a large spectrum of device sizes being used in today's world, this feature helps deliver the best looking and most user-friendly website to all users.
The new website is still being hosted by Blackboard, which was the previous website vendor. Blackboard offers great accessibility features, and because the new site is on the same platform, no additional training for staff is required.
