The Big Lake High School REAL (Relevant Experience through Apprenticeship Learning) program hosted its second annual Youth Apprenticeship and Career Fair. Close to a thousand students explored over 40 businesses in the areas of construction, manufacturing, healthcare, finance, government and more. This gathering of students and business partners provides exposure for students to then explore career and college opportunities for these high demand, high skilled, and well paid career fields. So far this fall, we have placed 19 students in Work-Based learning experiences within Big Lake and surrounding communities. These experiences provide unmatched opportunities for students to learn about the practical and theoretical aspects of a highly skilled occupation while on the job.
The 3rd annual Youth Apprenticeship and Career fair is scheduled for September 19th, 2019.
