The Big Lake Substance Prevention Coalition was established in 2021 under a five-year grant awarded to the Big Lake School District from the Minnesota Department of Human Services Behavioral Health Division. As a group, the coalition works to correct misperceptions about the behaviors and attitudes of youth and adults surrounding underage substance use through the Positive Community Norms (PCN) framework.
To continue the work and establish visionary plans, we are asking guardians of Middle and High School students to complete a short, anonymous survey. Your participation will help our community find more ways to promote positive, healthy choices for our local youth.
In the spring, students will be asked to complete a similar survey. This survey will help us identify misconceptions about underage substance abuse by Big Lake students. Participation will not be mandatory, and you will have the option to opt out if you would rather your student not participate. Please watch for more communication in the Spring regarding the student survey.
You have been sent a message with the link to the survey from your student's building office. The link is also available below. Please complete it by November 16, 2022. We appreciate your partnership in keeping our Big Lake students healthy and safe.
