High School Assessment Day

BLHS student and families:

This letter is to communicate an important change in our high school schedule on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.  Due to our Assessment Day on March 30th, it will be a distance learning day for all high school students. The only students reporting in-person on this day are juniors and seniors registered for the ACT, or any student in grades 10-12 who is taking the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). This change only applies to our high school students.  There will be no change to the schedule at Big Lake Middle School or the elementary buildings.

All teachers will be assisting in proctoring the ACT on this day.  Therefore, teachers will be communicating prior to students their class instructional expectations.  Students will need to self check in through Infinite Campus for attendance, during their normal class times.  All students who are taking the ACT or ASVAB must arrive at school by 7:30 am.  Students are dismissed when testing is complete, and their daily attendance will be excused.  Any student in need of transportation for Assessment Day should contact Ms. Folch by March 22nd.  Students taking the ACT should continue to check their school email for upcoming information regarding testing.

Important Calendar Dates to Remember:

  • March 12: Last day of second trimester
  • March 15-17:  No school due to staff professional development
  • March 18: Start of third trimester and return to full in-person learning
  • Tuesday, March 30: distance learning day for all high school students, only students taking the ACT or ASVAB report to school
  • Thursday, April 1 - Monday, April 5: No school

As always, we appreciate your partnership!

Sincerely,
