Big Lake Schools will offer seniors and their families a graduation experience done in a different format due to the pandemic. The graduation experience begins with a parade on May 29 at 7:30 pm. Graduating seniors and their families will be escorted by the Big Lake Police and Fire Departments as well as the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Department.
The parade will begin at 7:30 pm at Liberty Elementary and follow this route ending at Big Lake High School:
Spectators are welcome to come support and cheer for our graduates as they celebrate this important milestone in their lives. We ask that you do not park on streets along the parade route and instead park at the Middle School, Independence Elementary and athletic field parking lots. All spectators and participants should follow social distancing guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health and Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Thanks to the generosity of Northern Lighters Pyrotechnics and the Knights of Columbus there will be a fireworks display on May 29 at dusk. Students and families should watch the fireworks from their homes or other location away from school facilities.
A virtual graduation ceremony will be shared on May 30 featuring speakers, senior pictures, and video from the graduation parade.
We hope that you will be able to join us in celebrating the class of 2020!
