We are so excited you decided to join us virtually this year! We have over 500 students enrolled in Big Lake Online! We know that there were a few hiccups the first week while we got everyone set up on Edgenuity, but we appreciate all of your patience and understanding as we launch our first ever online school.
A few reminders for our families:
Remember to take things slow! This is new for everyone involved and we encourage you to explore Edgenuity on your own to become more familiar with it. Our teachers are here to help you navigate it as well!
Use the calendar page on Edgenuity to see a pacing guide of what is expected each day. Remember, this is just a guide to help keep you on pace. Edgenuity is very flexible and students can certainly work ahead if they are ready.
We’ve had a few students who are enrolled in Big Lake Online and have shown up to recess, outdoor recess here at the schools. While we want your students to build those connections and spend time with friends, we do respectfully ask that they remain home for supervision purposes. We want to make sure that our playgrounds are safe and healthy.
If you feel like you are behind in class, remember that our platform is available to families 24 hours/day, 7 days a week.
Please continue to reach out to your Big Lake Online Teacher or Coordinator for help! All of us are here to help support you!
Online elementary students will be able to pick up workbooks for their classes on Wednesday, September 23rd at the High School from 8 am - 4 pm. In addition to workbooks, 4th and 5th grade students will also be picking up their first book for novel studies. Please reach out to Big Lake Online Coordinator Dan Haley if you need alternative arrangements to pick up materials.
If you have not yet picked up your district issued Chromebook or iPad please email BLonline@biglakeschools.org to arrange a time to pick up your device at school.
Thank you all and I certainly hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
