Six Big Lake Students Sing with Internationally Recognized Men's Choir

Real Men Sing Six Big Lake High School students joined 250 participants from 31 different schools across Minnesota to learn from and sing with the internationally renowned men’s ensemble, Great Northern Union, at the third annual Real Men Sing event.

Seniors Richard Holbrook and Jamell Whitelaw, junior Caleb Juhl, sophomores Joey Lindberg and Alexander Prom, and freshman Richard Lange were encouraged to participate in this daylong singing workshop by their choral director, Mary Ebanks.

“The event encourages young men to participate in choir and other singing activities while in middle and high school, as well as promote the enjoyment of lifelong singing,” Ebanks said.

The workshop ended with a finale performance open to the public that included all participants, The Limestones (St. Olaf College’s 7-man a cappella group), and Great Northern Union.

The event was held at Bethel University on October 3, 2015. For more information on the workshop, visit http://gnurealmensing.wordpress.com/
