    Before and After School Child Care


    What is Kids Club?

    Kids Club is a Big Lake Community Education program that offers before and after school childcare in a fun and safe environment. Kids Club is also  a certified child care center through the State of Minnesota Department of Human Services. It’s more than just childcare though – we offer a wide variety of programming that includes arts & crafts, physical education, outdoor games and during the summer months many field trips!

    What ages can go? 

    Kids club is open to children in Kindergarten to age 13


    When is Kids Club open?

    Kids Club is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.  It's a great option for non-school days too!


    Where is Kids Club at?

    Children in grades K-2 attend Kids Club located at Liberty Elementary
    Children in grades 3-8 attend Kids Club located at Independence Elementary

    Why Kids Club? 

    We provide amazing, hometown service to kids right here in their elementary school! Why take the bus to and from school when you can hang out with your friends at school? Our staff are trained professionals who are passionate about making sure each child has a safe, fun environment to spend time before and after school.

    Summer 2019 Rates: 

    Summer hours are 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. During the summer of 2019 there are planned building and grounds projects happening throughout the district. As a result, Kids Club will be located at Big Lake Middle School.

    Summer Registration Fee: $30 per child / $15 for each additional child. (Late registration fee of $25 if received after April 1)

    Summer Activity Fee: $50 per child 

    Summer Daily Rate: $34 per child

    School Year 2018-19 Rates:

    Extended day childcare is available before school from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and after school from 3:30 pm to 6 p.m. This is a great option if you need to get to work earlier than your child needs to get on the bus, or if you can’t make it home by the time school is released. Extended day childcare is at Liberty and Independence elementary schools.

    Before School: $10.00/day – Drop In: $15.00/day

    After School: $10.00/day – Drop In: $15.00/day

    Non School Day: Kindergarten – 8thGrade -- $34.00/day (preregistration required) 

    Registration Fees (non-refundable):

    $30 Registration Fee per child

    $15 for each additional child

    $25 Late Registration (received after August 1) 

    Registration Options: 

    Option 1: Consistent Contract

    One to five days, schedule repeats consistently every week all school year. Monthly invoicing, payments due the 1stof each month.

    Option 2: Pick Your Day Contract

    This option is for families who have a variable schedule throughout the school year. You will be required to enter your schedule by the 20thof the month prior (August 20…. September calendars are due.) Monthly invoicing, payments due the 1stof each month.

    Option 3: Drop In Contract

    This option is for families who need a casual day here and there, or only need care on “Non School Day’s.” A credit card MUST be on file to use any form of drop in care. Fees will be automatically charged to the credit card on file. 

    Financial Assistance: 

    Big Lake Kids Club accepts financial assistance through the State of Minnesota. You may contact Sherburne County Health and Human Services at 763-765-4000 to find out if you qualify.

    Written authorization for families receiving financial assistance from outside agencies must be received by Kids Club before child care can begin. If financial assistance is cancelled, you will be responsible for all expenses incurred. If you receive financial assistance, you assume responsibility for fulfilling county requirements (provide information and child care schedules, submit timely reports, and make payments not covered by the financial assistance program).

     For situation when financial resources are unavailable or not appropriate, there are limited fee assistance and account adjustments, which may be available on a short-term basis. In case of financial emergency, please contact our office as early as possible for information on fee assistance.
