ENGLISH LITERATURE (12th Grade):

The overall structure of these courses (divided into trimesters) follows what is laid out in the class textbooks.

These courses introduce the student to a respective sampling of American and English Literature.  Each trimester's readings are typically presented as excerpts, or pieces, taken from much larger, more complex literary works.

These courses are designed to acquaint the student with what is “out there” in American and English Literature(s).

The classes move quickly, requiring the student to stay current with class discussions and assignments.
In these courses, we will be writing journals entries, informal and formal essays, in conjunction with our readings.  Students will experience vibrant discussions and be encouraged to express their interpretations in a civil manner.
