Independence Elementary STEM is one of two elementary schools in the Big Lake School District. It is home to about 750 students in third - fifth grade.
Indy's focus is to prepare 21st Century learners with a solid elementary education that can be built upon in middle school and high school years.
The elementary school offers many classes that supplement Minnesota's required core curriculum - these classes include:
- Physical Education
- Media & Technology
Indy teachers believe that providing additional curriculum opportunities above and beyond the State's requirement is essential for developing well-rounded, global citizens.
Indy is very proud of their school and their students - the school boasts a safe, caring and inviting environment where each student is valued for the person they are and the contributions they bring.
