Kids Club Child Care
Our school-age program is more than just child care; we offer a wide variety of programming like arts and crafts, physical education, outdoor games, summer field trips and so much more!
What Ages Can Go?
Kids Club is open to students in kindergarten through 13 years old. We also offer child care for students enrolled in our preschool program - look for Hive Time Child Care on our Little Learners Preschool page.
When is Kids Club Open?
Kids Club is open from 6 am - 6 pm, Monday - Friday throughout the school year and during summer. Additionally, we are typically open days when school is not in-session unless it's a major holiday. See our Family Handbook or calendar for specific days we are closed.
Where is Kids Club at?
Children in grades K-2 attend Kids Club at Liberty Elementary, and children in grades 3-8 attend Kids Club at Independence Elementary on school days. On non-school days, all grades and ages will attend Kids Club at Liberty Elementary.
What is the Cost?
Before School: Liberty Elementary $6 per day, Independence Elementary $10 per dayAfter School: Liberty Elementary $14 per day, Independence Elementary $10 per dayNon-School Day/Full Day: $36 per day
There is a $30 registration fee for the first child, plus $15 for each additional child being registered. A $25 late fee may be added to registrations occuring after the registration deadline. Summer session typically charges a $50 per child activity fee due to an increased number of field trips and other activities - see Eleyo or call the office for details. We accept financial assistance through the State of Minnesota - families need to contact Sherburne County Health and Human Services for qualification details. We also may be able to offer short-term emergency financial assistance, please call our office for information.
What Happens During Distance Learning?Should COVID-19 metrics change and Big Lake Schools needs to enter a Distance Learning period, we will provide non-school day child care services to families at our non-school day rates. If feasible, additional support staff will be available to assist with distance learning during these days.What if I am a Tier 1 Essential Worker?Under Governor Walz’s Executive Order 20-82 school districts must provide school-aged care for eligible children at no cost during the time those children are not receiving instruction in the school building during regular school hours. This school-age care must be provided for district enrolled children age 12 and under who are children of critical workers in Tier 1 of the state critical worker list. Children of Tier 1 workers only will be cared for at no cost during the typical school hours. Free child care is to be made available when the only parent or both parents in the household are employed as critical workers. The Tier 1 list of eligible children is below.

What are your Contract Options?
- Consistent Contract: one to five days, schedule repeats consistently every week all school year
- Pick Your Day Contract: best for families who have a variable schedule throughout the school year
- Drop-in Contract: best for families who need a casual day here and there or only need care on non-school days
We offer a School Year Contract Session and Summer Contract Session - families register for each contract session wanted.
When is Registration and How Do I Register?
Online registration for Kids Club is available on our Eleyo website. Registration for the school year typically opens in May and registration for the summer typically opens in February. Watch for exact dates in our Community Education Catalog. Register early as space is limited.
