Safe and Reliable Bussing To and From School

Big Lake Schools contracts with Vision Transportation to provide safe bus transportation for all students. Vision creates and manages bus routes and stops, notifies you of bus stop locations and times, and ensures routes are properly staffed by trained bus drivers.

BusWhere

All of our transportation vehicles are equipped with tracking service called BusWhere. This technology allows you to watch your child(ren)'s buses (and only your children's busses) on a map in real-time, see how long the bus spends at each stop, and receive notifications with real-time ETAs and automatic notifications if a bus is running late.

If your child rides the bus, you will receive an email from Vision (support@buswhere.com) once routes are set at the beginning of each school year with a unique invitation to download the BusWhere app.

Transportation Policies

Bus Rules and Guidelines

Electronics are NOT allowed out on the bus (no phones, tablets, speakers, etc.).
You cannot be on a bus that is not your own, even with a parent note. If you sneak a friend on the bus this is an AUTOMATIC 5 day bus suspension for both parties.
Be at your stop 5 minutes early to ensure pickup. All buses have a 5 minute window before and after the scheduled pickup time. You must be standing outside and ready to go when the bus comes.
No food or drink allowed on the bus
Students must remain seated and keep the aisles clear, backpacks closed, and voices at a volume one.

Alternative Pick-Up Arrangements (Elementary-Only):

If a student who normally rides the bus home will be getting picked up or will be walking/ biking home instead, communicate directly with your student’s teacher and the office. Transportation plans will not be changed for a student without this communication.
