Registering & Getting Ready for Kindergarten

We are incredibly excited to partner with you in the next step of your child's formal education! The next steps for kindergarten registration include ensuring your child has completed Early Childhood Screening (ECS) and all kindergarten registration paperwork is completed.

Remember, we're here to partner with you and help in any way we can! If you have any questions, please reach out to us!

Step 1: Complete Early Childhood Screening

The State of Minnesota mandates Early Childhood Screening for all incoming public school kindergarteners. If your child has not yet participated, you can set up an appointment through Big Lake Community Education.

If you have concerns about your child’s development, talk with your healthcare provider or reach out to Help Me Grow.

Step 2: Complete Kindergarten Registration

Online registration for Kindergarten 25-26 is now open! Find the enrollment link on the district enrollment webpage. Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Step 3: Check Your Child’s Immunization Records

Review the vaccine requirements. Students must be up-to-date on all required vaccines, or submit an exemption, by the first day of Kindergarten to remain enrolled.

Step 4: Complete the Kindergarten Placement Survey

Complete the kindergarten placement survey to help us create balanced classrooms and match your student with the specific strengths of a classroom teacher (this form is for students enrolling for the 25-26 school year only).

Step 3. Celebrate Your Kindergartner!

We are so excited to welcome your child into our Liberty family!!

Watch this summer for details about Getting to Know You Days—a chance to meet your child's teacher and receive a personalized tour of Liberty right before school starts. We value our families, and know that a strong school-home partnership will lead to the most student growth!
