Annual Career Fair Introduces Students to Career Paths
Big Lake High School’s annual career fair, held on Thursday, September 19, was another major success, with 78% of high school survey respondents reporting that they left the event with greater insight into careers they are interested in exploring!
The career fair brought in 115 representatives from local employers, higher education institutions, and organizations to share their industries and career opportunities with more than 1,500 students across the district. Students from 5th, 8th, and 12th grades had the chance to interact with professionals from a wide variety of fields, helping them explore potential career paths and gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities available in numerous industries.
The career fair plays a vital role in the "exposure" phase of Big Lake High School’s signature 3E (Exposure, Exploration, and Experience) model of career readiness. This model is designed to ensure that students can choose a career pathway by choice, not chance.
Events like this wouldn’t be possible without the support of our amazing community partners. We are grateful to all who contributed to making the day a success and providing our students with the tools they need to plan for their future. The career fair is just one example of how the Big Lake Schools community works together to prepare students for success beyond the classroom!
