Big Lake Schools is proud to announce the recipients of this year’s Educational Support Staff (ESS) Award!

The ESS Award, presented in partnership with Resource Training & Solutions, honors our non-licensed support staff and celebrates the invaluable contributions they make every day to our school community.

This year’s honorees from Big Lake Schools include (from left in picture):

  • Stacy Braegelmann (Paraeducator, High School)
  • Jenny Roy (Paraeducator, High School)
  • Sonja Ewert (Custodian, Liberty)

These recipients are not only excellent at their jobs, but they also serve as positive role models for our students, staff, and community. Honorees are recognized based on criteria such as their thorough knowledge of work responsibilities, commitment to continuous personal and professional growth, and ability to help cultivate a positive community while making a meaningful difference every day.

Eligible staff members include bus drivers, food service workers, paraprofessionals, hall monitors, custodians, office administrative assistants, coaches, and other non-licensed educators.

Our Big Lake recipients were honored at the Leadership in Educational Excellence Banquet and Award Ceremony, along with 138 other staff members from districts across the region. The event, held at the St. Cloud River’s Edge Convention Center, fittingly took place on Education Support Professionals Day, November 20, 2024.
