It is my privilege to work with BLHS students and parents as well as the Big Lake Community at large.
My educational philosophy stems from over 29 years of working in education and focuses on advocating for students, collaborating with parents, supporting our teaching/building staff and sustaining a school culture that truly exemplifies the Hornet Way.
In addition to serving as high school principal, I have gained experience serving as Big Lake's middle school principal, assistant principal, dean of students, classroom instructor and baseball coach. Prior to employment in Big Lake, I enjoyed elementary teaching for four years in St. Cloud, Minnesota, as well as working with the Boys and Girls Club of Central Minnesota.
Personally, my wife, Paula, and I have two children of our own, both of whom are entering into the world of education. Emily will graduate this year with a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Blake is studying to be a High School Science Teacher. I am a big fan of my work, my family, baseball and Elvis!
It is my mission to make each school year a success for your student(s) and family as well. In the event you need to speak to me directly, do not hesitate to contact the main office at BLHS.
